We are happy to introduce the 2026 recipients of the Stewart Genes Scholarship, Camryn Deleeuw and Keira Virostek.
Camryn grew up in Vauxhall, graduating as Valedictorian of her class. She just started her first year of University, majoring in biology and chemistry with the goal to apply for Pharmacy at the University of Alberta. Upon completing her degree, Camryn aims to come back to rural, southern Alberta to live and work, returning to the small community that has shaped her.

others and make a positive impact through a healthcare career.”
Keira Virostek, a 19‑year‑old nursing student from Taber, is currently in her first year of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Passionate about helping others, she’s excited to build a meaningful career in healthcare. Keira plans to continue her education after becoming a Registered Nurse, ultimately aiming to become a Nurse Practitioner.

Two scholarships of $500 are awarded annually thanks to the support of local donors and community supporters. Applications for the next round of scholarships will open in summer 2027 and will be accepted until August 31 each year.
